The University of Ghana Business School organized an orientation for new students of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme on Friday, 1st March 2019 at the UGBS Graduate Building.
The orientation was coordinated by the Acting Manager for the EMBA programme, Mrs. Marjorie Beeko. In her introductory remark, she welcomed guests present and introduced the Chairman of the EMBA Management Committee, Dr. Daniel M. Quaye, as well as Dr. Obi Berko Damoah and Dr. Richardson Azunu, who are also members of the Committee. The orientation kickstarted with an opening prayer.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Daniel Quaye, Chairman of the Executive MBA Management Committee, in his welcome address, lauded the students for applying to study at the prestigious business School and assured them that, their decision was a step in the right direction since UGBS is the most preferred choice and one of the best Business Schools in Ghana. He took them through the rules and regulations governing the programme and cautioned them to work according to those guidelines.
According to the Chairman, the Ghanaian Parliament is deliberating on whether or not to increase the fees for the programme but he then assured the students if there are any changes, students will be alerted. He further indicated that the school has secured an international collaboration which would be of immense benefit to them and therefore, the fee is value for money compared to what is paid elsewhere.
In his closing remarks, he advised students to network and socialize in knowledge and ideas sharing, and encouraged them to focus on their studies, which he believes would enable them to excel academically and in the job market.
The event ended with Questions and Answers session where concerns of the students were tabled and addressed.
