On Friday, 19th August 2022, the Academic Affairs Unit of the University of Ghana Business School organised a workshop to discuss the 2022 -2023 academic year admissions process.  The workshop which aimed at discussing issues related to the entire application and admission process was held at the Graduate Building.

Giving his initial remarks on the essence of the workshop, the Dean of the Business School, Professor Justice Bawole, indicated that there is an urgent need for all to be on board to ensure that there is an increment in enrolment into all the special programmes to ensure its sustainability. He further cautioned that attention must be given to students right from the admission stage till the completion of their programmes to raise the value placed on the UGBS brand.

Participants further deliberated on creating a good image for the UGBS brand through both faculty and staff playing their roles seriously. On the issue of adverts for the various programmes, the participants discussed several ways of reaching out to prospective applicants. There were further discussions on using virtual rooms to attract more international students. The participants again deliberated on strategies to ensure fewer challenges with graduation among others.

As part of the discussions, Dr. Emmanuel K. Awuni, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems took the participants through a claims app that has been built to assist in processing claims for teaching.

The workshop had in attendance, heads of departments, special programmes coordinators and officers and other stakeholders. It was moderated by both the Dean and the School Administrator Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee
