UGBS Nest Organises an Entrepreneurship Mentorship Workshop for Incubates

The University of Ghana Business Schools (UGBS) Innovation and Incubation Hub organised a two (2) day Entrepreneurship Mentorship workshop from Wednesday,14th December to Thursday 15th December 2022 at the UGBS Graduate Building.

In his opening remarks, Dr. George Acheampong, Coordinator of the Innovation and Incubation Hub briefed participants on the activities involved in the two (2) day mentorship workshop and further welcomed them to the sessions. Giving further highlights about the programme, Dr. Acheampong noted that the workshop seeks to prepare the participants for new initiatives that would enable them to source funding. He ended with a note of encouragement to the young entrepreneurs.

In a brief remark, Professor Justice N. Bawole, Dean of the Business School, expressed delight at the progress of the Innovation Hub. He stated that it is a privilege for students to be selected from the University's large population, adding that their selections also come with greater responsibility. Professor Bawole also expressed his appreciation to Professor Felix Ankomah Asante, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) at the University of Ghana for supporting the hub's activities.

Taking his turn, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Felix Ankomah Asante, in excitement, lauded incubates for their brilliant ideas and pledged his support to their development. He divulged that the University seeks to create an advanced space for innovation.

The two-day session had various resource persons including Dr. Raphael Odoom (Senior Lecturer, Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, UGBS), Mr. Frank Asamoah (Senior Manager, Growth and Sales, MTN Ghana), Ms. Hadjia Nyante (Lecturer, College of Education) Ms. Angelina Asenso-Addo (Founder and Managing Consultant- PeopleSense Ghana), and Mr. Anum Quansah (Consultant, Registrar General's Department, Ghana Industrial Property Office. These resource persons spoke on various topics such as personal branding, sales and marketing, negotiation, basic bookkeeping, and intellectual property.
