On 10th March 2023, the Executives of the Marketing and Entrepreneurship Students Association held a conference at the Executive Hall in the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) on the theme "Strategic Positioning for Modern Relevance: Personal Branding, Personal Development, and More."
Speaking at the conference, Mrs. Sonia N. Makafui Adjorlolo, a Radio and Media personality, and a Personal Development Coach stressed how individuals can position themselves in this competitive world for modern relevance. She advised the participants to create positive habits; start small, adding that improvement will occur daily.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Vincent Blankson, Relationship Manager at Data Bank, gave students a peep talk on how to manage their finances effectively. Also, he advised all to invest a portion of their funds by either buying Treasury bills, bonds, or shares, which will go a long way to aid them during this difficult time.
Moving forward, Mr. Patrick Baah Abankwa, a Chartered Banker, Chartered Global Investment Analyst, and Financial Advisor highlighted the purpose of branding and the ways of doing it. According to him, the way one dress, speak and behave forms part of the person’s brand and thus attracts the right kind of benefits.
On his part, Papa Kwesi Folson, a digital entrepreneur, personal development coach, and LinkedIn coach, who was the keynote speaker for the event spoke on building a strong personal brand. He urged the students to strongly believe in themselves, decode their fears, and fight them since he strongly believes that fear is learned. He ended his session by teaching students great ways to monetise their skills, thus through eBooks, templates, and online coaching.
The event ended with a question-and-answer session.
