The Dean of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Professor Justice N. Bawole, has called on lecturers of the Business School to be a positive influence within the workplace. He said this during a retreat organised for faculty on 22nd June 2022 at Rock City Hotel, Kwahu.
“I want us to reflect whether as a group of people, we are going to be focused on the negatives and create panic among ourselves and pull ourselves down, or we want to take the other side, that is, there are challenges to the job that we do. A lot of things didn't go well then and may not go well going forward but when we focus on the fact that we are a people who are capacitated, we can deliver the business school that we all want,” he remarked.
He further urged faculty to desist from joining the poisonous and toxic group of employees. These people, he mentioned, tend to create negative impressions about the workplace on new people who join them. This, at the end of the day, will gradually destroy what we all want today. He stated that an individual cannot single-handedly build the school that we have, but he is positive that if the majority of faculty do the right things all the time, it will be a great move towards being the ones leading the positive influence.
"Don't contribute to destruction. Let us all with one aim contribute to building, and the building will require us to do a lot of things.", he concluded.
