On Friday, 18th November 2022, the Alumni Association of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) held a Black-Tie Event Dinner at the Accra City Hotel. This was a special event for the UGBS Alumni to reconnect and also celebrate their fellow Alumni’s achievements.
In a brief remark, Professor Justice Bawole, the Dean of the Business School acknowledged the Alumni for their generous contributions towards the School and also for their presence at the event. Giving highlights on the numerous projects and activities that the Alumni have embarked on within the year, the Dean mentioned that the School received Nissan Kicks 2021 model from two alumni. He also made mention of the UGBS Business Excellence Awards as well as the 60th Anniversary and Homecoming events.
Subsequently, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, President of the Alumni Association giving his speech also mentioned the numerous programmes he has presided over. The President added that the event was to ensure a strong bond between members of the Alumni Association and to celebrate their great achievements. Concluding his speech, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare introduced the first faculty to serve as a coordinator for the Alumni Relations Unit in the person of Dr. Lily Yarney.
In a solidarity message, Professor Gordon A. Awandare, the Pro Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Ghana revealed his delight to be at the event. He further acknowledged and thanked the Alumni for upholding the good name of the school as well as their benevolence to the Business School. Professor Awandare ended by asking the Alumni to extend their kindness to the University of Ghana as well.
The event which was moderated by Dr. Kobby Mensah had in attendance other UGBS faculty as well as other stakeholders.
