Dr. Roger Ayimbilah Atinga, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), was installed as the 20th Hall Master of the Mensah Sarbah Hall. The installation ceremony took place on Friday, 18th of November 2022, at the forecourt of the Mensah Sarbah Hall.
Dr. Ayimbilah Atinga became a resident of the Mensah Sarbah Hall during his undergraduate studies and graduated with first-class honours in political science with philosophy in 2005. He has a PhD in Public Health with specialisation in health policy planning management from the University of Ghana. He is known to have attained several academic feats in various disciplines, and this reflects in his teaching and research activities at the University. His research interests include health policy, health financing and insurance health care management, human resources for health, health care quality, patient care, digital health, and health supply chain.
In his inaugural speech, Dr. Roger Ayimbilah Atinga indicated that he subscribes to Psalm 23 as a guide for his life, hence he was thankful to God for shepherding his life adding that the attainment of this feat as the Hall Master of Mensah Sarbah shows that indeed the Lord is his shepherd. He was also thankful to the fellows of the hall for the confidence and support that they have given him. He further emphasised his readiness to continue from where his predecessors left off stating that he will continue with the strategic vision for the hall. Dr. Roger Ayimbilah Atinga stressed that his vision as a Hall Master is to advance a world-class residential environment that supports healthy living and academic pursuits through high-quality residential infrastructure and technology application
The programme was chaired by Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana with Professor Ernest Aryeetey, a Former Vice-Chancellor of the University, as the special guest of honour. The event also had in attendance some staff and faculty of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).
