Discussion of a Possible Partnership Between UGBS and ESSEC Business School
Jun 20, 2022

On Tuesday, 14th June 2022, some faculty and staff at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) had a meeting with Hugues Levecq, Director and Deputy Dean, ESSEC Africa, and Khelil Mehenni, Head of International Partnerships, ESSEC Africa to discuss ways in which both business schools can collaborate and forge partnerships.

Prof. William Coffie, Head of Department, Accounting, chaired the meeting in the stead of the Dean of UGBS, Prof. Justice N. Bawole. In an initial statement, Prof. Coffie mentioned that UGBS already has a very good relationship with some international institutions and ESSEC will be a good addition, given that they are one of the top business schools across the globe.  He added that their areas of interest fit into the strategic vision of the University of Ghana Business School.

ESSEC Business School is an international business school with four campuses across the globe (Cergy, Paris, Singapore, and Morocco). The school seeks to keep a balance with other regions across the globe. Currently, they have about 200 partners, and only three of such partners are with African countries. The objective of ESSEC Africa is to create links to bridge the gap they have today in their relationship with African countries. The possible areas of partnership that may be explored between both schools will be at the undergraduate and graduate levels, executive education, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. These partnerships may be in the form of exchange programmes.
