Dr. Patience Aseweh Abor, a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), was recently honoured at the Navrongo Town Awards (N-Town) for her contribution to rural development through her work for the Exglo Foundation.
The founder of Drug and Alcohol-Free Awareness and Rehabilitation Centre (DAFAREC), Mr. Emmanuel Agyapong, commended the level 300 students of the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management (PAHSM) of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), for exhibiting the character of the good Samaritan as told in the Bible.
As part of their Guest Lecture Series for the semester, the Principles of Healthcare Quality Assurance (PHQA) class hosted Dr. Adwoa Agyemang–Benneh, Senior Manager at the Quality Assurance Directorate of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). The Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management (PAHSM) held this session on the 7th of November 2019 for their final year students at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Graduate Campus.
On the 8th of November 2019, Dr. Bernard Agyei Kwanin, Head of Registration and Licensing at Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HEFRA) delivered a lecture on Healthcare Regulation to the Level 400 Health Service Management students of the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, (PAHSM). This interaction took place at the R.S Amegashie Hall at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).
Yale School of Management (Yale SOM) recently welcomed to its campus the third Global Network African Faculty Fellow – Dr. Albert Ahenkan, a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). He is currently teaching an elective course at the Yale SOM on Green Economy Management, which examines green economy and sustainable development issues in Africa.
On the 20th of September 2019, Mr. Emmanuel Sessou, an Engineer and the Lead Consultant at EAP Consult, delivered a lecture on Quality Management in Practice, to the Level 400 students of the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, (PAHSM). He interacted with the “Principles of Healthcare Quality Assurance” class at the F5 Lecture Room.
The Level 400 Health Financing Class of the University of Ghana Business School on September 26, 2019, hosted Mr. Philip Afeti Korto, the Head of Health Administration and Support Services at the Achimota Hospital.
Speaking on Mortuary Management and Medico-Legal Issues, Mr. Korto spoke extensively on the legal implications of mass burial and mass burial report writing. The lecture started with brainteaser questions which made the students think in unconventional ways.
The Department of Public Administration & Health Services Management (PAHSM) at University of Ghana Business School, commenced their Guest Lecture Series for the semester on Friday 13th September 2019. The first episode in this series was taken by Naana Afia Aboagye Asare, a manager at Port Medical Centre (PMC) and the President of Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana.
The Department of Public Administration & Health Services Management (PAHSM) at the University of Ghana Business School and the School of Graduate Studies organised a PhD thesis presentation for Madam Esi Eduafowa Sey on the 12th September 2019.
Madam Sey presented on the topic “The Recursive Interaction of Structure & Action in Public Accountability in Ghana”. Her supervisors were Professor Justice Bawole, Dr. Thomas Buabeng, and Dr. Richardson Azunu.
Dr. James Kwame Mensah, a Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has been made a fellow of the Penn Institute for Urban Research (Penn IUR), University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Dr. Mensah’s appointment took effect from 3rd July 2019, and this offer was as a result of his excellent works on Urbanisation and the institute’s conviction that his urban-focused scholarship will help deepen and diversify the multi-disciplinary knowledge that they seek to cultivate at Penn IUR.
