The Department of the Organisation of Human Resource and Management (OHRM) of the University of Ghana Business School hosted Professor Helena Addae, a professor of Management from California State University.
In a quest to provide students with the requisite skills needed to succeed in the world of work, the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM) of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) organised a two-session practical skills training for undergraduate students of the department, on Saturday, 27th August 2022. The training was facilitated by experts from OML Africa (Occupational Management Limited), an international Human Resource Management Consultancy with its head office in Ghana.
The Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM), as part of its extension services, collaborated with Enterprise Risk Management Institute (ERM Africa) to organise a 2-Day workshop themed “Emotional Intelligence and Team Building ''. The training aimed to provide important knowledge and skills in behavioural risk to managers, supervisors, and team leaders from the various units of the Adentan Municipal Assembly (AdMA).
The Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM) of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) recently appointed and welcomed Professor Damoah Obi Berko as their new Head of Department. He takes over from Professor Kwesi Amponsah-Tawiah.
The Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM) of the University of Ghana Business School organised a summit for its students at the R.S Amegashie Auditorium on the 25th of March, 2022. The event dubbed the HR Summit had four speakers: Mr. Kojo Amissah, the President of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Forum Ghana, Mrs. Baptista Gebu, a member of SHRM, Mr. Peter Bosrotsi, the Head of Human Resource at Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), and Mrs. Janet Adanusa, the Principal Consultant of Hecal Consulting and Former Head of HR at Atlas Copco.
As part of UGBS’ weekly Covid, Business and Society (web) Seminar (COBUSS) Series, The Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management to its turn to host the weekly event on May 14, 2020 via Zoom. The speakers for the seminar were Professor Seth Oppong, Associate Professor at the University of Botswana, Wing Commander (Rtd.) Samuel J.A. Allotey, Human Resource Director, GRIDCO, Dr. Kwasi Dartey-Baah, and Dr. Yvonne Lamptey both of faculty of the Department of OHRM, UGBS.
As an expression of appreciation for their support and tremendous work, the 2018/2019 Cohort of MA in Organisational Leadership and Governance (OLG) presented Professor Dr. Kwesi Amponsah- Tawiah, the Head of the Department of Organisation & Human Resource Management Department (OHRM) with oil and pencil portrait pictures.
A PhD student with the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM), Mr. Alex Anlesinya, has won the 2019 Emerald Literati Award for the Highly Commended Paper. The awarded paper, “Organizational barriers to employee training and learning: evidence from the automotive sector”, was published in the Development and Learning in Organizations journal.
