Mr Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu is Governance, Civil Society and Development Management Expert with over 20 years experience facilitating socio-political development processes at national and international levels.

For the past 15 years, he has been leading in the development and management of strategic Voice and Accountability programmes, including the multi-donor funded Strengthening Transparency Accountability and Responsiveness in Ghana (STAR-Ghana) programme, supply-side governance programming and civil society strengthening. He has extensive hands-on experiences in facilitating strategic planning processes; design, implementation of monitoring, evaluation and learning systems, programming for the delivery of social services as well as institutional strengthening, partnerships brokering and fundraising.

Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu is a product of the University of Ghana, Legon with a B.Sc. Administration and certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of Ghana Business School. He also holds a post graduate diploma in NGO Management from Centre for Development Studies, Aarhus School of Architecture, Denmark and an M.A. in Social Policy Studies from the Centre for Social Policy studies University of Ghana, Legon. He is currently the Programme Director of the second phase of the multi-donor funded STAR-Ghana programme (www.star-ghana.org).

Mr. Wahab Adams Hamidu, is a Computer Science graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He also holds an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Ghana Business School.

Mr. Wahab has been working in the management of information systems since 2004 with a diverse portfolio of experience in the field. He currently works as the IT Service Delivery Manager at Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, where he is charged with the responsibility of managing the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) function in the bank to ensure that risks to service delivery are identified and proactively managed.

He is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and has completed all 4 ISACA certification examinations. His score on the Certified Information Systems Auditor exams in December 2016 ranks in the top 10 percent across the globe. He is;

The Department of Operations and management information Systems hosts Mr. Wahab Adams Hamidu as Corporate Executive in Residence from February – April 2017.
Dr Callistus Mahama is the Head of Local Government Service and a product of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Cambridge. Dr Mahama has enormous experience in local governance and decentralization. He was also the Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on decentralization (IMCC) Secretariat from 2012-2016. Dr Callistus Mahama has served as the Deputy Director and head of the Institute of Local Government Studies for both Accra and Tamale Campus. In addition he lectured at the department of Land Economy at KNUST and was a Junior Partner at Valuation and Estate Services Limited as well as Padfield and Woodman Associates.

He has served in several public positions, as the chairperson for the Decentralisation Sector Working Group (DPs & GoG); a member of the African Commission for Local Government Improvement International Expert Panel and also a member of the Ministerial Expert Group for the review of Ghana’s decentralization. He also served as a Steering committee member of the World Bank /Ghana funded Northern Region Poverty Reduction Programme (NORPREP). He is also a member of the Local Government Service Council and was once an Assembly Member at the East Gonja District Assembly where he gained extensive knowledge in local democracy.

Dr Mahama is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations UK (MCIPR) and Ghana Institute of Surveyors (AGhIS). In addition, he has received several awards including the Mo Ibrahim Foundation for development in Africa Initiative, and was also awarded Associate member, Centre of African Studies, (SOAS), University of London and an award from Royal Cambridge Society.

Dr Mahama has other professional experiences spanning from being a member of the National Technical Working Group for the Implementation of Composite Budget in Ghana, Ministerial Expert Review Committee, Ghana Government Decentralisation Review Programme, and Ford Foundation International Fellowship Programme Country Selection Committee. He is also a Reviewer for Journal of Urban Studies, and Editor, Journal of Local Government Studies. He has a number of publication on local government and urban decentralisation and has also presented a lot of conference papers at both local and international platforms.

Mr. Gopalakrishnan Kaliyannan is the Sales Leader of Procter & Gamble (P&G), Greater West Africa with over 16 years’ experience across sales, trade strategy and market planning both in Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B) selling. He has served in various managerial positons in reputable organisations such as Procter & Gamble India, and Ghana, BASF (I) Limited and Clariant (I) Limited. Across these organizations, he has held positions such as Key Account Manager, Project Manager, Regional manager and Group Manager for multiple categories amongst others where he influenced sales delivery, category plans, new launches and distributor operations.

In his 16 years’ experience across markets and territories, Mr. Kaliyannan grew various businesses, delivered growth rates up to 30%, designed and executed market coverage plans, brand wise in-store plans and built sales capabilities, which turned around the fundamentals of his business. In his role as Project Manager, Distributor Operations for P&G, Mr. Kaliyannan led the development direct coverage and improved productivity of coverage. He also executed Distributor Hub and Top Leadership Structures. Mr. Kaliyannan has won several national and international awards in P&G and Clariant for his stellar performance across roles.

Mr. Kaliyannan has completed his Master’s in Business Administration with Marketing and Finance major from the reputed S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai India. Before that, he had done B.Tech. in Leather Technology from Anna University in Chennai, India. He has been outstanding across his academics with University Gold Medal from his B.Tech. and Dean’s Top 20 in Masters. He has very keen interest in mentoring youngsters and guiding students. He is passionate about training and teaching within his corporate as well as in colleges. Apart from being a corporate trainer in his company on many topics, he has given many lectures on his sector expertise as well as general management in management institutes in Mumbai. He is also a marathon runner and has run couple of full marathons and several half marathons.

Mr. Frederick Attakumah is the Executive for Corporate Affairs, and The Director of Asanko Gold Ghana Limited with over 20 years’ experience in the mining industry.
He was the first Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines and also a member of the Governing Council of the Private Enterprise Federation.
Frederick has held several management roles including Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Vice President – Sustainability for AngloGold Ashanti’s operations in Ghana and General Manager – Engineering Services among others. His management experience spans operations, projects and sustainability.
He is a product of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Henley Business School, (UK) and also an alumnus of the Wharton School’s Advanced Management Programme (University of Pennsylvania, USA).
Frederick belongs to a number of professional associations including the Institute of Directors (UK), the Chartered Management Institute (UK), the Project Management Institute (USA), the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), the Association of Energy Engineers (USA), the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Engineering (USA) and the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada.
Mr. Frederick Attakumah is the Corporate Executive in Residence (CER) for this academic year for the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management under the Corporate Executive in Residence Programme (CERP).

 

Mrs. Bridget Katsriku was a product of the University of Ghana, Legon which she completed in 1973 with a degree in the Arts. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration, and numerous post graduate certificates in Management, Public Policy ,Manpower Planning and Auditing, Labour-Management relations etc.
Mrs Katsriku joined the Civil Service in September 1975 after teaching for two years. By a dint of hard work and dedication to duty she rose through the ranks to become one of the few female Chief Directors in the Civil Service; a position she held from 1999 to 2009 when she retired compulsorily from the civil service after serving for 34 years.
While in the civil service Mrs. Katsriku held several key positions including the Director of Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, at the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare, Programme Manager of a UNDP/ILO UMBRELLA Programme On Employment Generation .
She was also a Team Leader at the Management Services Division of the Head of the Civil Service from 1986 to 1991, where she led a team of Management analysts to undertake staff auditing. This was during the Civil Service reform programme, which led to the rationalization of staff in the civil service.
In November 1999 , while she was still serving as Chief Director , she was assigned additional responsibility of establishing the Ghana AIDS Commission ,a task she effectively executed with distinction and became the first Chief Executive of the Ghana AIDS Commission, in Acting position, from June 2001 to May 2002.
Under her leadership as Chief Director in the Ministry of Employment and later in the Ministry of Tourism, many policies were initiated. These include the national Disability policy, a policy on NGO- Government Relations, Ageing, Street Children, Co-operatives Development, HIV/AIDS at the workplace, HIV/AIDS District Response Initiative , Tourism policy etc.
Mrs. Katsriku is currently the first female Chairman of the Public Services Commission.

Mr. Kenneth Thompson is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dalex Finance & Leasing Company Ltd., where he’s responsible for setting and executing strategy. He began his stellar accounting career in 1985 as a Senior Auditor at Hacker Young & Co. (Chartered Accountants), UK, a position he held for 6 years.
Since then, he has held a string of key positions in various organizations, one as the Assistant Operations Audit Manager of Barclays Bank, UK, where he was responsible for designing and implementing operational procedures among other key duties.
Mr. Thompson’s launch into the Ghanaian corporate world began in 1999 when he was appointed Head, Venture Funds Management, Fidelity Investment Advisors Ltd., a fund management firm. His next appointment was as the Associate Consultant of Bruks Associates, where he undertook such projects as assisting a government agency to source over 20 billion Cedis for the acquisition and development of land to be designated for the construction of industrial parks.
His career is strewn with impressive achievements. One of his most significant is growing Dalex Finance & Leasing Company Ltd. from a 3 man company to a company that employs over 1,000 employees in 20 branches, with assets amounting to 250 million Cedis and over 7 million Cedis in profits (both after taxes) within 8 years. Under his leadership, Dalex is now ranked no. 16 on the Ghana Club 100 list. Other achievements include managing portfolios worth tens of millions of US Dollars, with directorship positions at several reputable institutions.
Mr. Thompson, hosted by Department of Finance, UGBS, currently serves as Corporate Executive in Residence.
Mr. Elikem Nutifafa Kuenyehia is an author and distinguished lawyer. Additionally, he is a member of the Law Society of England & Wales and the Ghana Bar Association, the Chairman of Oxford & Beaumont Solicitors, regarded globally as a leading Ghanaian Law firm , whose areas of expertise include corporate and commercial, banking, energy and infrastructure.
Prior to Oxford & Beaumont, he helped establish the Standard Trust Bank Ghana ( now United Bank for Africa Ghana Ltd., serving as head of Corporate Services & Legal. Beyond that, he serves as a non-executive director of Google Ghana Ltd.Chase Petroleum Ghana Ltd and Beige Savings & Loans Company Ltd.
Having been trained at Travers Smith in London, Mr. Kuenyehia has worked extensively in international banking and financing. He previously worked with Linklaters LLP, from where he was seconded to Barclays Capital as a Global Loans Lawyer.
Mr. Kuenyehia, a man of global repute, first gained international prominence in 2006 when he received the prestigious Millennium Excellence Award as Young Professional of the Year. He was again honored in 2010, this time by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader and again by The Network Journal as one of Africa’s 40 under 40 Achievers. In 2012, Mr. Kuenyehia received the West Africa Young Business Leader of the Year award, an accolade bestowed by Forbes and CNBC, while the Africa Leadership Network named him as one of Africa’s next generation leaders. In 2013 he was a named ‘Most Promising Entrepreneur in Ghana’ by the UT Bank Ghana Entrepreneur Awards.
Mr. Kuenyehia, hosted by the Department of Organization and Human Resource Management, in UGBS currently serves as Corporate Executive in Residence.
Dr. Gilbert Buckle, a public health physician of international repute, is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana’s premier health facility.
His rise to this prestigious position is hinged on many years of experience in the public and private sectors over a course of 17 years, 12 of which were spent in senior management and leadership positions.
Until his appointment, he served as a Medical Director of the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Koforidua, and Municipal Director of Health Services.
Dr. Buckle’s laudable service to Ghana began in 1992 upon his graduation as a medical doctor from the School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He proceeded, in 1998, to the University Of Ghana School Of Public Health, where he acquired a Master’s degree in Public Health.
A professionally certified Organizational and Systems Development practitioner, Dr. Buckle also served as the Executive Director of the Christian Health Association, and is a member of the Ministry of Health’s Ministerial Advisory Committee, as well as the Public Health Association of Ghana.
Dr. Buckle, hosted by the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, UGBS, currently serves as Corporate Executive in Residence.
Mr Eric Nsarkoh MTN Ghana Mr. Eric Nsarkoh a Sales & Distribution Executive with MTN Ghana, is a Chemical Engineer with both local and international work experience. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Management Information Systems Option). His career spans many years of engagement with Corporate Institutions including VALCO aluminum smelter in Tema, professional advisory firms like Pricewaterhouse and KPMG. He has also worked for the British American Tobacco Company and the Heineken group. On his return to Ghana in 2007 from Amsterdan where he had worked with the Heineken Group for five years, Mr. Nsarkoh did a few short consulting assignments, before he joined the telecommunication industry. In telecoms, he has worked as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Tigo and Airtel and presently heads the Sales and Distribution function of Scancom (Gh) Ltd, local owners of the MTN brand. Eric has spent parts of his career, lecturing at institutions like the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and Ashesi University. The Department Operations Management and Information Systems hosts Mr. Eric Nsarkoh, as Corporate Executive in Residence from January 2016 to June 2016.
Dr. Andrews Akolaa, the Managing Director of Agya Appiah Bitters Limited, is a professional Marketer from the Institute of professional studies with an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School and an enrolled Doctoral candidate with SMC University in Switzerland He has over 19 years’ experience in Sales and marketing especially from the Media, Beverage and Telecommunications. Andrews worked with Airtel Ghana as the Vice President responsible for Sales & Distribution. Prior to that, he was Sales Director for Guinness Ghana Breweries a Subsidiary of Diageo Plc. where he led one of the biggest sales teams to deliver on the total beverage agenda of the business. Dr. Akolaa, previously held various positions in Kasapreko Company including; Sales and Marketing Manager, Marketing and Public Relations Manager and General Manager for International business where he spearheaded the company’s export programme across the West African Region and other parts of Africa. He worked as a pioneering staff of the Multimedia Group, TV3 Network Limited and Peace Fm where he served in various positions in sales and marketing from 1996. Dr. Andrews Akolaa has held several Council and Board positions, serving as a Council member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, Council member of AGI, representing the food and beverage sector, currently serves as a member of the strategic planning committee of the Brand Ghana office and a Board member of the National Biosafety Authority. The Department of Marketing, would host Dr. Andrews Akolaa, who serves on the Corporate Executive in Residence Programme from January 2016 to June 2016

Felix E Addo is the Country Senior Partner and member of the PwC Africa Governance Board. He is also a Deals Partner with particular interest in CP&I, Sustainability and Climate Change.  Felix holds a BSc (Administration) from the University of Ghana and an MA (Professional Accounting) from Loyola College, Maryland (USA).

Felix has professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana; Institute of Chartered Accountants, Sierra Leone, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, US. He has over 27 years of practice, including consulting experiences in corporate finance and recovery, financial and forensic auditing, organisational restructuring and performance improvement, in both developed and developing economies.

Second Semester, 2014/15

Lucas Yikimpa Chigabatia is the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) of the University of Ghana. Lucas arrived at the University of Ghana in August 2013 to provide the leadership required to advance the university’s strategic goals through sound information technology investments. In his role as CITO, he is pursuing strategies to drive ICT enabled teaching, learning and research in the University of Ghana, and to bring delivery of IT services closer to end users by leveraging existing technologies.

Before joining the University of Ghana, Lucas was the Knowledge and Information Technology Manager (KITM) of AngloGold Ashanti Continental Africa Region. In this role he provided technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology (IT) initiatives often in the business’s remote and challenging operational areas in Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Tanzania, the DRC and Namibia. He was in this role for 6 years and led a virtual team IT professionals in delivering innovative IT solutions which helped improve cost effectiveness and business development during very challenging times in the constantly changing and competitive mining industry.

He began his career at Unilever Ghana Limited as the Information Technology Manager for the Lever Brothers Division and quickly established a reputation for getting things done. Between 1994 and 1996 he was the team lead for the implementation of the computerized financial systems to all subsidiaries of the company in Ghana. He was also a key member of the Systems Management and Redesign Team (SAMRT) which reviewed and redesigned the business processes of the company. Lucas has had a long and rich experience in consultancy. He joined the consultancy firm Conseil Gestion Assistance (CGA) in 1998 and consulted widely for organizations locally and internationally rising to become the Technical Director, Advisory Services with responsibility for Business Process Optimization and Computerized Financial Systems implementation.

He joined Ashanti Goldfields Limited as the Databases Applications Manager in October 2000, a position he held till 2004. Between 2004 and 2006, he was the manager in charge of Information Technology operations for AngloGold Ashanti West Africa Region, and became the Information Technology Manager responsible for the Africa Open Pit Mines of the same company between 2006 and 2008.

Mr. Chigabatia obtained a Master of Science (MSc.) Engineering Degree with specialization in Automated Economic Data Processing from the Kharkov Institute of Engineering and Economics, Ukraine in 1987. In 1999, he was awarded an MBA (Finance) Degree from the University of Ghana. Lucas also received a Certificate in Management Practice from the University of Cape Town, South Africa which he obtained in 2007. He is a member of the Project Management Institute PMI.

Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong, a Chartered Accountant by profession, has several years' experience in the application of finance, accountancy, strategic management and policy formulation at the Executive and Board levels in several Ghanaian and international organisations. He previously served as the Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director (Finance and Administration) of Tema Oil Refinery; Head of Administrative and Financial Services Division of the International Cocoa Organization in London; Deputy Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board; Deputy Managing Director of Produce Buying Company Ltd; and General Manager and Chief Accountant of the Ghana Food Distribution Corporation. He also served as the Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club Ltd. Until recently, Dr. Sarpong was the Chairman of Finatec Limited, a financial consulting firm. He served on the Boards of Ghana Commercial Bank, Tema Chemicals Ltd, Aluworks, Ikam Ltd, Merchant Bank, Action Aid International, Cafédirect Limited (UK), SIC Ltd. and Sahel Sahara Bank (Gh.) Ltd.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of The Royal Bank, Imperial General Assurance Company Ltd and Nsutaman Catholic Senior Secondary School and a member of the Board of Sekondi College. Dr. K. K. Sarpong holds a PhD in Industrial and Business Management from the University of Warwick, England, M.Acc (International Accounting and Multinational Financial Management) from the University of Glasgow, MBA and BSc Administration (Accounting Option) both from the University of Ghana. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana). Dr. Sarpong, who is presently a Master of Arts in Ministry student at the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon is now Chief Executive of the Global Haulage Group Limited, which has subsidiaries in the road transport, cocoa purchasing, banking, insurance, estates/properties, and commercial trading sectors in Ghana.

Mr. George Andah is a Corporate Executive with extensive international and local exposure and experienced on marketing and branding related issues. His practiced has been in some of the top level companies in Ghana and beyond. He has many years of experience having worked as the Regional Director, Marketing Promotions, Globacom (Nigeria, Ghana & Benin), Chief Operating Officer (Country Manager) for Glo Mobile Ghana, Chief Marketing Officer – Bharti Airtel Nigeria, member of the Bharti Group, Chief Marketing Officer, Scancom Ltd, a member of the MTN Group, and Marketing Director, Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd. He is passionate on effectively managing brands, and works with and through multi leveled layers of internal and external stakeholders to harness full brand and business potentials. His work philosophy is to engage with results-centered organisations, where responsibility, teamwork, quality and perfection are demanded behind a backdrop of challenge and exciting opportunities in customer management and career development.

He is currently the CEO and Founder of Rudder Solutions, a Ghanaian-based market-development management consultancy firm that provides a comprehensive set of integrated professional services for business development, market development, corporate/brand communication, reputation management, direct sales, channel development and leadership coaching on a global scale. Besides consulting, he is also a transformational Leader, and sought after speaker on Marketing, Media, Youth Motivation and Empowerment issues. Mr. Andah is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana, Council Member, CMO Council for Africa, and Member of the Ghana Association of Biochemist. He holds BSc (Hons) Biochemistry from the University of Science & Technology and an MBA (Marketing option) from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon.
