UGBS @ 60 - THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION IN GHANA: REFLECTING ON THE 60-YEAR EXPERIENCE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA BUSINESS SCHOOL

UGBS Alumnus of the Month, March 2022

Rev. Solomon Kwasi Kyei is an alumnus of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) where he studied MBA (Finance). He is a member of the Ghana Monitoring and Evaluation Forum (GMEF); a Fellow of the American Academy of Financial Management (FAAFM) and a Member of the Harvard Business Review (HBR) Advisory Council. Rev. Solomon Kwasi Kyei is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant with professional certification by both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK and the American Institute of Chartered Public Accountants (AICPA).
Rev. Solomon Kwasi Kyei has over 15 years of professional experience in management accounting, project management, and research design, analysis and reporting. In 2011, he lectured on Financial Management and Quantitative Techniques for Business for ICAG students, and Financial Strategy (F9) for ACCA Students at the Centre for Business Studies, Accra. Rev. Solomon Kwasi Kyei is also credited with academic research papers at international conferences including that of the Society for Pentecostal Studies (SPS) and the Association of Professors of Mission (APM) in the United States. The alumnus also worked for Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited as Management Trainee and Line Manager, as well as for John Bitar & Company Limited, Sekondi, as an Assistant Sawmill Manager and a Sawmill Manager for years.
Rev. Solomon Kwasi Kyei's great leadership skills came to prominence when he was made the Head of Operations and Research at Stratcomm Africa where he supervised and reported to the CEO on the entire operations of the organisation, and coordinated the activities of the departments of the organisation. He has also worked with Synovate (Now Ipsos) Ghana as a Senior Research Executive where he led several markets and social research, including several market feasibility studies in the banking, cosmetics and housing sectors. He is currently the Youth Pastor for The Church of Pentecost, Winneba Area and the Resident Minister for Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) – Winneba.
