Ms. Emelia Sarfo is a highly professional Human Resource Practitioner with over fifteen (15) years’ worth of experience. Currently, she recruits for companies, especially hotels and other hosipitality institutions. Ms. Sarfo has recently worked for Maaha Beach Resort in the Western Region and also did a consultancy work for the University of Ghana Guest Centre. In addition, she recruited staff for West Africa Power Pool(WAPP) in Ivory Coast and Benin, also trained staff for the West Africa Power Pool in Benin and Abuja in Nigeria.
Ms. Sarfo holds a degree in BSc. Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon. She gained her GCE ‘A’ and ‘O’ level certificates from St. Monica’s High School at Mampong in the Ashanti Region. She is highly skilled in recruitment, performance management, training and development as well as streamlining human resource processes within organisations.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Emelia Sarfo worked as an Assistant Human Resource Manager and later rose to be the Human Resource Manager at VODI Technik Motors Ltd. Again, she worked as the Human Resource Manager at Mobile Choice, Association of Productive Entrepreneurs in Development, World Vision Int. (APED), the African Regent Hotel, Holiday Inn Accra and Tang Palace Hotel. In all the organisations, Ms Sarfo ensured that the relationship between management and staff was a cordial and productive. She also planned and organised internal and external training for management and staff, as well as recommended to management, appropriate ways of dealing with staff benefits schemes. She further ensured that human resources were optimised for increased productivity and organisational efficiency.
Ms. Emelia Sarfo also served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ghana Business School. She worked as a Credit Controller and was in charge of debt collection and credit control reports, worked as a Senior Procurement Offier, and also served as an Administrative Executive at A Plus Shipping and African Food Distribution Company, Irvington, USA. Again, she offered consultancy services to Transco CLSG, and African Sun Amber Hotel. Mrs. Emelia Sarfo is the founder of the Foundation for the Village Poor Child.
Ms. Sarfo holds professional certificates in Strategic Management Skills, Mediation and Labour Laws, Human Resource Management (Coaching and performance), Strategic Management, Strategic Decision Making, Basic Principles of Inventory Management, Effective Customer Service, Negotiating Skills, and is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners.
