Biography: 

Dr. Mohammed-Aminu Sanda is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Organization and Human Resource Management of the Business School. He is Adjunct Professor of Human Work Sciences at the Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences, Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. He was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Industrial Work Environment Specialized Unit at the Division of Human Work Sciences, Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences.
Dr. Sanda is an expert with vast experience in the following areas of industrial practice: (1) Ergonomic Workplace Design, (2) Human Resource Planning and Development, (3) Organizational design and management, (4) Strategy Management, (5) Organizational Restructuring and New Practice Implementation, (6) Leadership and Management of Organizational Change/Workplace Transformation, (7) Occupational Health and Safety Management.
Dr. Sanda has researched extensively to develop an innovative work organization model for the “Intelligent Deep Mine” to be used for predicting and managing the work environment of “Future Intelligent Deep Mines”. He also researched extensively to develop a lean instrumentation framework for guiding the introduction of the lean concept in the production value chain of industrial firms towards increasing their productivities through the enhancement of their human, technical and management systems.
Dr. Sanda has extensive knowledge and expertise in organizational design and development as well as new work and/or management practices implementation in organizations, and developed an Organizational Activity Framework which can be used by organizations to appraise their operating environment in order to identify possible constraints to overcome prior to future introduction/implementation of new work/management practices. He has extensively studied the environmental factors that influenced the commercialization of Government Research and Technology Agencies (RTO) in some developing countries in sub-Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean with visitation to RTOs in Botswana, South Africa and Trinidad.
Dr. Sanda has served as a Consultant to the Third-Phase Restructuring Programme of the Ghana National Service Scheme, and also worked as the Design Manager at the Engineering Design Center, Ghana Regional Appropriate Technology and Industrial Service (GRATIS FOUNDAITON). He also served as the Principal Researcher (Appropriate Technology) in the Afadjato Community Forest Conservation Project (Funded by Ghana Wildlife Society) in Hohoe, Ghana. He has also served as a supervisor/chair for a number of international workshops and conferences including, the Commonwealth Regional Workshop on “Tools Development Technologies for Women in Africa”, Institute for Agric. Research, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria; the International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, Macau; Congress of the International Society for Cultural and Activity Research in Seville, Spain.
As a result of his rich experience gathered over the years, Dr. Sanda has membership in a number of professional associations, including the Executive Committee Member and Coordinator for Africa Region, International Society for Cultural and Activity Research (ISCAR), the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM), Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM) of IEEE, Global Team, Centre for Promoting Ideas (CPI), New York, USA and the National Geographic Society. Dr Sanda also serves as Editor of ISCAR News (quarterly newsletter of the International Society of Cultural and Activity Research) and Associate Editor-in-Chief, Business & Management Quarterly Review.
