Biography: 

Olivia Anku-Tsede, is an Associate Professor of Regulation & Organisation in the Department of Organisation & Human Resource Management at the University of Ghana Business School. Her research focuses on regulation, organisation, enterprise development, public policy and social change, with special interest on how rudimentary data can affect complex policy issues and social change in developing economies. She is also the Legal Counsel of the University of Ghana and a Notary Public with over 24 years standing at the Ghana Bar with extensive experience in providing training and consultancy services in the areas of regulatory regimes, financial security, transaction advisory, policy development, compliance, organisational development & employee relations, legal risk management, business & public policy, as well as financial markets and enterprise development.

Olivia holds a Ph.D Degree in law from the Manchester University School of Law. She also holds a Qualifying Certificate (BL) from the Ghana School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of Ghana. She is certified by the General Teaching Council of Scotland as a Qualified Teacher in Business Management for higher education. She is licensed by the National Pensions Regulatory Authority as an independent trustee for pension funds.
Olivia is currently the legal advisor to the University of Ghana Credit Union. She has worked in various leadership and challenging technical capacities, including being a legal advisor and product development consultant on a number of investment, insurance, pensions and microfinance projects, as well as led a number of legal and research consultants in various research projects and transaction advisory services including legal due diligence, fund management, pensions, venture capital, public private partnerships, listing on the Ghana Alternative Market of the Stock Exchange, acquisitions and mergers, financial and credit transactions as well as perfection of securities transactions. Olivia led the team that researched into and facilitated the establishment of the Gold Fund, one of the first unit trust schemes in Ghana. She also led a team of experts that developed a microfinance and enterprise development policy for an international organisation as well as a human resource policy for various organisations. Olivia has until May 2011 taught company law at the Ghana School of Law. Olivia also worked as a volunteer at CLIRT, UK, in 2008, where she provided a number of research and training in business management to black and ethnic minority small business owners. She is currently a permanent member of Clirt Institute, a charitable organisation supporting the poor and needy in education and health in Ghana.
Olivia has published extensively in a number of top international journals. She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, the International Bar Association (IBA), Commonwealth Lawyers Association, the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTC Scotland), the Socio-Legal Studies Association, UK (SLSA), Law and Society Association, USA (LSA), Africa  Academy of Management (AFAM) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Academy of International Business (AIB).
