Mohammed Amidu is a Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Ghana Business School. He holds PhD in Banking and Finance from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. He is a researcher with African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Kenya. He has contributed significantly to the accounting and finance literature in the area of accounting information quality, banking, inclusive finance, tax policy, corporate governance, livelihood activities, sustainability and green accounting. He is also a Senior Research Fellow of Volkswagen Stiftung Foundation, Germany and Research Fellow of Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance, St. Andrews University, UK and has also held Visiting Scholar positions at the International Monetary Fund, Washington DC; University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa; and University of Southampton Business School, UK.  He was part of a collaborative research project on “Delivering inclusive financial development and growth” funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Mohammed was a ccontributor of The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa 2020 Economic Report of Africa: Innovative Finance for Private Sector Development in Africa Development in Africa. He is the principal investigator for a research project on Adapting Pandemic Management to Vulnerable Populations funded by AXA Research Fund. University of Ghana Business School awarded him the “Best Researcher” of the University of Ghana Business School for the 2015/2016 Academic year. He has published in the European Journal of Finance, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, International Review of Financial Analysis, Accounting Research Journal, Journal of Risk Finance, Review of Financial Economics and Journal of African Business. Mohammed has more than 17 years of teaching experience at the University level both local and abroad. He has taught a wide range of courses (in Accounting and Finance) at the PhD, MPhil, Executive MBA, MBA, MA, MSc, and Undergraduate levels. He is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) and serves on many of University of Ghana Boards and Committees. Mohammed is the currently Proceeding Editor of Academy of African Business and Development (AABD) Conference.
