Senior Lecturer

Dr William Coffie is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School. He has a PhD in Finance, Economics & Econometrics from the United Kingdom.  He has a cumulative work experience of nearly two decades in Ghana and overseas, which straddle four very important sectors in the public and private sectors - academia, local government, charity and industry. He has interacted and negotiated effectively with very high-ranking decision makers in these areas. Currently, he is a highly participative, energetic and experienced senior academic, who can clearly demonstrate an excellent record of achievements and experience in the academic life of his Department, Faculty and University as a whole. He has authored several journal and conference papers in the areas of Accounting, Finance & Applied Economics.
Prior to University of Ghana, William was a Senior Lecturer in Finance & Econometrics and Programmes Director for MSc Finance & Accounting and MSc International Banking & Finance at University of Wolverhampton, UK. Besides, he has previously worked at Birmingham City University, Staffordshire University, City College Birmingham, Birmingham Metropolitan College, all in UK and Kumasi Polytechnic Ghana. He has also been a visiting professor to Hong Kong City University from 2008 to 2011. He is a practicing Accountant and a member of Institute of Financial Accountants and Association of Certified Chartered Accountant. He is a founding member of the African Accounting & Finance Association and has presented at each of its International conferences since its inception in 2011. He is also a Chartered Marketer and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. Dr Coffie has also had training in Financial Econometrics and Applied Econometrics at Wadham College University of Oxford and Clare College University of Cambridge respectively.
