Biography: 

Prof. Godfred A. Bokpin earned his B.Sc. (Admin) in Accounting in 2003 with First Class Honours, MPhil in Finance in 2006 from the University of Ghana and his PhD in Economics from the Graduate School of Economics, Osaka University in 2011 and was recently appointed as Head, Department of Finance. He was promoted to senior lecturer in 2010 after his two year probation. His research focuses on macro-finance linkages, market microstructure, asset pricing, fiscal policy/monetary interaction, economic and firm level governance, disclosure and transparency. Prof. Bokpin combines three strong disciplines namely Accounting, Finance and Economics in his teaching and research which allows him to bring the interrelations between accounting, finance and economics to bear in his delivery.  Prof. Bokpin investigates issues with funding mostly from African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), African Development Bank, Canadian Government and University of Ghana as well as Corporate Ghana. His publications have appeared in important journals with impact factors.  His partial clients (consultancy) in the past include United Bank for Africa (UBA), the Millennium Development Authority Ghana (MiDA) and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in Washington USA, African Development Bank (AfDB), Government of Ghana etc. Prof. Bokpin regularly presents an economic outlook for a number of financial institutions and other organisations during their annual strategic retreat mostly in Accra and occasionally in Kumasi. He actively contributes to shape public policy and appears regularly on important media platform both locally and internationally. He is also a member of important university committees and also serves on some corporate boards in Ghana. He teaches both at the undergraduate and graduate level and supervises long essays/theses at all levels.
