Dr. Bedi Ibrahim is a chartered accountant and faculty at the Department of Accounting, University of Ghana Business School. He is a fellow, the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (UK); member, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana; member, American Accounting Association; treasurer, African Accounting and Finance Association; and member, International Association of Accounting Educators and Researchers. He holds Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Administration in accounting degrees. In 2010, he was a visiting scholar to the Open University, UK. He is partner of Taylor, Folson and Associates (Chartered Accountants).
He offers training, accountancy and consultancy services to persons in both the public and private sector. He is one of two consultants that reviewed and developed the accounting manual of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to be used by all Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Government of Ghana. He has offered facilitation services to several national bodies in Ghana including the Advertising Association of Ghana, Institute of Public Relations and the Ghana Microfinance Network. He has trained several top-level finance and top management personnel across Africa in seminars and workshops organised by Achievers’ Africa, South Africa, Darester Traning Institute, Nigeria, HSD and Associates, Nigeria and Soreb International, Nigeria.
His training programmes have cut-across a broad range of topics including the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the IFRS for SMEs, International Standards on Auditing, International Internal Audit Standards, Advanced Financial Modelling in Excel, Annual Report Writing, Pricing Financial Services, the role of Corporate Governance in Corporate and Financial Reporting, Cyber Crimes, Taxation, Internal Control Systems and Teacher Discipline
