Biography: 

Dr. Acheampong Owusu holds a PhD in Information Systems with a focus on Business Intelligence (BI) Systems from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia. He also has an MSc .NET Distributed Systems Development from Hull University, UK and a BSc Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He has also been a part-time lecturer at the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems, UGBS since August 2018. As a part-time lecturer he has taught UGBS 303 Computer Applications in Management; UGBS 102 Introduction to Computing in Management and OMIS 604 Information Technology Policy and Strategy, OMIS 630 Seminar I, and OMIS 640 Seminar II.

Prior joining the OMIS Department, Dr. Owusu worked as the Head of the ICT Unit (Network Systems Administrator) of the UG Business School. During his tenure, over a decade, he designed and implemented the UGBS computer network and systems. He also contributed immensely to the development and growth of University of Ghana Computing Systems (UGCS) in terms of extending the network infrastructure as well as the support services and systems maintenance.

Dr. Owusu is a multidisciplinary researcher with research interests in Innovation Diffusion in Organizations, Business Intelligence Systems and Analytics, E-Business, and Cloud Computing. He also has higher proficiency in Advanced Quantitative Analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) both co-variance and variance based as well as R and Python for statistics and analytics. His research publications have featured in journals including Education and Information Technologies, The African Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Cloud Applications and Computing (IJCAC), International Journal of Electronic Government Research (IJEGR), Electronic Government, an International Journal, Cogent Business & Management, and South African Journal of Information Management, among others.

He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and serves as a reviewer for a number of journals and conferences.
