UGBS PhD Student Alex Anlesinya wins Emerald Literati Award for Highly Commended Paper

A PhD student with the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM), Mr. Alex Anlesinya, has won the 2019 Emerald Literati Award for the Highly Commended Paper. The awarded paper, “Organizational barriers to employee training and learning: evidence from the automotive sector”, was published in the Development and Learning in Organizations journal.

The study identifies organizational culture, poor management commitment to training, inadequate promotion prospects, and lack of transparency and fairness in trainee selection as the most common barriers to employee training and learning.

The Emerald Literati Award is a prestigious global award for excellence in scholarly research, founded over 25 years to champion new ideas that would advance the research and practices of Business and Management. The Emerald Literati Award is a member of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI) and in close collaboration with several academic and corporate organ-isations and associations worldwide.
