The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) on Monday 3rd June, 2019 held an orientation session for its newly admitted sandwich students, at the R.S Amegashie Auditorium, University of Ghana.
The orientation was organised to welcome students, give them an overview of the School, and to also make them aware of what to expect as they begin their studies. Dr. Mrs. Patience Abor, a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Public Administration & Health Services Management served as the MC for the event.
Welcoming the newly admitted students, the Administrator of the Business School, Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, explained to them the purpose of the programme. He further briefed them on the importance and the benefits they stand to gain from the programme. Mr. Poku-Sarkodee again advised the students to be serious with their studies and be mindful of the dos and don’ts of the Business School.
Dr. Godfred Matthew Yaw Owusu, a Lecturer and Coordinator of the MSc Accounting & Finance programme introduced the students to the various programmes. He elaborated on how the various courses would be run and whom they should contact in case they encounter any problem.
Speaking at the event, the President of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana, Mr. Chris Atadika informed the students of the Association and their obligations. He encouraged the students to channel their grievances through them for solutions.
There was a session for questions and answers where students were given the opportunity to seek clarification on issues, they were not clear about.
Dr. Mrs. Patience Abor, the MC of the event ended the event with a message of appreciation to faculty and the students for their presence.
