The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), widely perceived as Ghana’s foremost business school, has mounted its Corporate Executives in Residence Programme (CERP), with the overarching aim of producing graduates who proffer innovative solutions to challenges confronting the public and private sectors in Africa and beyond.
The brainchild of UGBS’s Dean, Prof. Joshua Yindenaba Abor, the CERP also seeks to promote theory and practice as well as positively impact the business community and society as a whole, by inviting seasoned executives to share their rich experience and insights with students, faculty and the School’s Management.
EXECUTIVES IN RESIDENCE
Since its inception in November last year, invited executives in residence, Mr. George Nenyi Kojo Andah, famed marketer and acclaimed entrepreneur and Dr. K.K Sarpong, Board Chair-Royal Bank Ltd., have been hosted by the School’s Marketing and Finance Departments respectively.
Mr. Andah delivered an enlightening lecture on “Relationship Marketing – Creating Competitive Advantage via Customer Relationship Management (CRM)”, while Dr. K.K Sarporng’s provided an insightful look into ‘Corporate Governance: Board Diversity and Board Room Challenges.
The executives, in residence for at least a semester, also provide mentoring and career advice as well as network opportunities to students, advice student organizations in their areas of expertise and advice students, faculty, and Management on emerging trends in management practice.
The CERP is in line with UGBS’s strategy of pursuing excellence in research and bridging the gaping divide between industry and academia, and provides one of the myriad platforms the School utilizes to engage with the business community.
This semester’s corporate executives in residence will be hosted by the School’s Accounting and Operations Management Information Systems Departments.
