The Marketing and Communications (MARCOMS) office of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) conducted a weeklong campus activation to welcome newly admitted undergraduate students. The event which spanned from 28th August to 4th September, 2017, at the main campus of the school, was aimed at creating awareness of the school’s social media platforms, conduct student experience survey and encourage the acquisition of UGBS paraphernalia.
The freshmen survey was conducted to assess and evaluate the experiences and expectations of the newly admitted students about the school and its competitors.
During the five-day period, hundreds of the newly admitted students who came in from different senior high schools trooped in to the premises of the Business School to complete their academic registration. Most of them were excited and expressed joy in being admitted to the school. They indicated their optimism and confidence in the ability of the faculty to equip them with the adequate and requisite skills needed on the job market. Some students commented on the registration process and made recommendations.
The event saw the MARCOMS team introducing the fresh students to the school’s various social media platforms: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Executives and representatives of the Business House Junior Common Room (BHJCR) also mounted stands where they engaged and assisted the freshmen in their registration process.
By the end of the campus activation, over two hundred (200) newly admitted students had participated in the survey and subscribed to the various social media platforms.
