The illustrious CEO of CAL Bank and University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) alumnus, Mr. Frank Adu Jnr., has sponsored 6 new awards which were given out during the Vice-Chancellor’s ceremony in honour of academic award winners for the 2013/2014 academic year held at the University of Ghana’s Great Hall last Friday.
The deserving recipients of these awards were Ama Anowa Thompson who won the Frank Adu Jnr. Prize for the Best Graduating MBA Student.
Alhaji Mohamed, Hope Kwaku Tettey, Prince Senyo, and Christine Dede Amankwa were all presented with the CAL Bank Prize for Best Graduating Student in Bachelor of Science in Administration for Marketing, Accounting, Management Information Systems, and Human Resource Management, respectively.
The 6th award went to Delali Foli, who took the Frank Adu Jnr. Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Geography, in honour of the programme in which Mr. Adu attained his first degree.
Mr. Adu, who spoke on behalf of the sponsors, entreated them to double their sponsorship and affirmed his commitment to continuing his sponsorship of the awards.
He further acknowledged the female award winners, whose number he noted exceeded that of the males, and urged male students to try to catch up.
He also admonished all students to abhor excuses, aim for excellence and not fear failure.
