An alumnus of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Mr. Kwamina K. Asomaning, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stanbic Bank Ghana. His appointment is to take effect from 1st December 2020. The announcement of Mr. Asomaning as the next CEO followed the impending retirement of the current CEO, Alhassan Andani who is to step down on November 30, 2020, after managing the affairs of the bank for 14 years.
Mr. Kwamina K. Asomaning holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School, a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Asomaning stated, “I am humbled and honoured to be selected by the board of the Bank as the next CEO. I have spent the past 10 years working closely with Mr. Alhassan Andani, and I thank him for his visionary leadership, which has positively transformed the bank.” He continued by saying that he hopes to advance the bank’s focus on pleasing its clients, supporting national development, and giving back to society. As the new CEO, Mr. Kwamina K. Asomaning plans to work collaboratively with all the stakeholders of the bank, to deliver Stanbic’s purpose and to drive the growth of Ghana.
