The Marketing and Communications (Marcoms) Unit of UGBS, last Thursday 2nd July, held an orientation session at the Executive Hall for national service personnel assigned to the Unit for the 2015/2016 academic year.
The personnel, numbering eleven, have backgrounds in Journalism (8), Marketing (2) and Advertising (1).
Mrs. Stella Dovlo, the School Administrator, took personnel through a presentation on the history of UGBS, its mission and vision as well as its various departments and units.

She also touched on rules regarding their comport as service personnel, admonishing them to adhere to rules, as well as refer to their heads as a last resort.
Dr. Bedman Narteh, the Head of the Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship, in his remarks, assured them of a positive and enjoyable experience at the School.

He stated that there was much work to be done hence the need for diligence and aptitude.
The Head of the Ghana Institute of Journalism’s (GIJ) Department of Journalism, Mr. Zakariah Tanko Musah, said the orientation was important because GIJ had built a relationship with UGBS which ought to be sustained.
He admonished personnel to be modest in their dealings and take advantage of their presence in the School to optimise opportunities that come their way.

Mr. Musah also advised them to be professional both in their appearance and attitude towards work.
Dr. Kobby Mensah, the MarComs Coordinator, took the personnel through their work schedule and urged them to be punctual and efficient.
