Dr. Abdul-Gafaru Abdulai, a Lecturer with the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, UGBS is among a team of international researchers working on a five-year DFID-funded research programme on Effective States and Inclusive Development (ESID) coordinated by the University of Manchester (see http://www.effective-states.org/dr-abdul-gafaru-abdulai/). As part of this work, Dr. Abdulai recently participated in two workshops in the United Kingdom (U.K) from the 12th-16th of January, 2015.
The first workshop formed part of ESID’s ongoing research project titled, ‘The Politics of Natural Resource and Inclusive Development’ (see http://www.effective-states.org/politics-natural-resources/). Dr. Abdulai presented a paper titled ‘Rethinking the Politics of Mining and Development in Ghana’ at the workshop which brought together a team of researchers from Ghana, the UK, Peru, Bolivia, and the United States of America.
He also participated in a research design workshop on a new project titled ‘The Politics of Regional Inequality in sub-Saharan Africa: Insights from Ghana and Uganda’.
Dr. Abdulai is the lead researcher on this project which involves researchers from Ghana, Uganda and the UK.
