Dr. Thomas Anning Dorson, Dr. Raphael Odoom and Dr. George Acheampong have joined the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). Their appointment is in line with UGBS’s vision to develop and retain high quality faculty and staff capable of training global leaders.
Prior to joining the Department as faculty, Thomas worked in the hospitality sector for more than half a decade. He is a member of the American Marketing Association and Academy of International Business. Dr. Anning Dorson consults for both local and international firms in the area of corporate strategy, innovation, service experience management, competitive advantage creation and market expansion analysis. His PhD research focused on Innovation, Competitiveness and Firm Performance in Emerging Markets.
Dr. Anning Dorson’s award winning research outputs have been published in top-tier journals such as Journal of Business Research, International Marketing Review, International Journal of Innovation Management, Marketing Intelligence and Planning, European Journal of Innovation Management.
Dr. Raphael Odoom is a fellow of University of Copenhagen in Denmark. He researches into branding, integrated marketing communications, electronic business, and digital and social media marketing. Dr. Odoom’s PhD thesis focused on Branding in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). His research works have been published in internationally peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Product and Brand Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Enterprise Information Management, Marketing Intelligence and Planning, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, Qualitative Market Research: An International Journal, Services Marketing Quarterly, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, among others. Dr. Odoom serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He has consulted for Ghanaian Outfits such as the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), National Lottery Authority and Greenline Logistics.
Dr. George Acheampong holds a PhD from the University of Ghana after completing coursework at the University of Copenhagen. George is a past DANIDA Growth and Employment Scholar. He has held fellowships at the UNU-WIDER and DERG University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on how enterprises can lead to development in Africa utilising market-based approaches. He is a member of the following professional bodies: the Academy of Management (AoM), Africa Academy of Management (AFAM), International Academy of African Business and Development (IAABD) and International Network of Social Network Analyst (INSNA). Dr. Acheampong has published in reputable journals such as Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, International Marketing Review and the Thunderbird International Business Review. Dr. Acheampong is an editorial board member of the International Journal of Technology Transfer and Commercialisation. He has consulted for large and small businesses across the country such as National Lottery Authority, Ghana Post, AshantiGold, BUSAC Fund and the Association of Ghana Industries.
