The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School in association with the Marketing and Entrepreneurship Students Association (MESA) has organised a maiden Health for Wealth (H4W) Walk.
The health walk was part of several activities that were lined up for the maiden Marketing Excellence Week celebrations of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, which held from 26th April to 3rd May, 2019. Prince Boateng, the National Service Personnel working in the Office of the Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship coordinated the sharing of branded Marketing Excellence Week T-Shirts for the walk.
At about 7am on 1st of May 2019, the group (comprising faculty, staff, prospective and current students of the Department) numbering twenty-two (22) started the walk from the forecourt of the University of Ghana Business School towards the Vice Chancellor’s Lodge on the University of Ghana Campus.
The walk which lasted for an hour and forty-five minutes was crowned with an aerobics session.
Professor Hinson, Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, shared his weight loss journey with the group.
He encouraged the walk participants to continue exercising to stay healthy, since a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. He cited some marketing and business strategy scholars (Philip Kotler and Michael Porter) who are still alive well beyond 80 years.
He also announced that the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship will organise health walks on the last Saturday of every month. The second Health for Wealth Walk is slated for 6:30am on Saturday, 25th May, 2019. The event ended with some light refreshments and networking.
