Commissioning Of UGBS Elevator

Commissioning Of UGBS Elevator
Feb 04, 2016

The academic life of the physically challenged students at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) was given a major boost when SICLife Commissioned an elevator donated to the school. In his welcoming address on behalf of the Dean, Prof. Richard Boateng, the HOD of the department of Operations and Management Information Systems (OMIS) observed that the elevator has been dysfunctional since 2005. This situation made it difficult for physically challenged students to access some lecture theatres. Prof. Boateng thus expressed profound gratitude to SICLife for this donation and was hopeful that the elevator will go a long way to help enhance the learning experience of physically challenged students on campus.
In his remarks during the commissioning, the Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. S. Agyei-Mensah, noted that if we make available conducive environment to the physically challenged in our society they would realise their full potential, hence the importance of this immense gesture by SICLife. He thus commended the School Management for their resourcefulness in soliciting for funding and the benevolent sponsor, SICLife. According to Prof. Agyei-Mensah, the facility makes the school comply with international standards as it works towards becoming a world class University.

Mr. Albert Bahun-Wilson told the gathering that most of their human resources are products of UGBS hence the urgent need to assist in this direction. He was hopeful that the relationship between the school and the company will bring long lasting relief just like the company’s tag line ‘absolute peace of mind’.
