The University of Ghana Business School and the Mentoring and Student Services Unit on Friday 28th September, 2018 organised an orientation session for newly admitted students into the BA Admin Programme on the topic “The Structure of BA Administration Programme”, at the R. S Amegashie Auditorium.
Present at the event were the School Administrator, Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee and the Assistant Registrar Ms. Selina Saaka. The main speaker, Mr. Poku-Sarkodee enlightened students on the new structure and briefed them on what is expected of them.
He advised students to meet every departmental requirement and have a broad knowledge about whatever they are being taught to enable them operate efficiently in the society they find themselves. “People who are versatile in an organisation can move easily from one sector to another without any difficulty”, he said.
He further explained to students the meaning of the BA Programme, its objectives, housekeeping rules and issues, and “Sakai” which is a learning platform that the university uses for its syllabus, course notes among others.
In ending his speech, he again informed students to contact course advisors or the academic office when facing any challenge with their courses.
The supporting speaker, Ms. Selina Saaka urged students to take their studies seriously and put in more effort. She added that, students should live a balanced school life; although books are their main priority, they should engage themselves in other programmes held at the school.
The Mentoring and Student Services Unit is a unit of the Business School which provides career and psychological counselling, internships and scholarship to qualified students.
