An Economics Professor at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Professor Godfred Bokpin, has emphasized the importance of digitalisation in Ghana’s economic itinerary. He addressed this issue in the Graphic Business and Stanbic Bank’s Breakfast Meeting held at the Labadi Beach Hotel. The meeting was themed: ‘Digitalisation: The key to unlocking the Ghanaian dream’.
The University of Ghana Business School, UGBS, through the Department of Finance, held its 7th COBUSS series on the 10th of June, 2020 via Zoom. Speakers for the series were Dr. Lord Mensah, Financial Economist and a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Finance at UGBS, and Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi, the 2nd Deputy Governor at the Bank of Ghana. The discussion was centred on the topic, “Sustainable and Responsible Investment on the Road to Post Covid-19 Economic Recovery”. Professor Justice N. Bawole, the Dean of UGBS, was the facilitator for the programme.
The Department of Finance at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), held the Covid, Business and Society Seminar (COBUSS) series via the Zoom app on June 11th, 2020. A lot of opinions have been made since The Bank of Ghana made the public aware of the introduction of the new 100 and 200 cedis notes, and 2 cedis coin. Dr. Lord Mensah, a senior lecturer from the Department of Finance, University of Ghana Business School, has shared his opinion on the issue.
On 13th of November 2019, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, presented the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government for the year ending 31st December 2020 themed “Consolidating the Gains, Jobs and Prosperity for All”. The presentation has attracted responses from numerous business and academic players since it was presented in Parliament. Dr. Lord Mensah, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the University of Ghana Business School has made a few recommendations.
On the 27th September 2019, a PhD oral examination was organised for Mr. Ebenezer Bugri Anarfo by the Department of Finance, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and the School of Graduate Studies.
