The MPhil in Marketing programme is a rigorous two-year programme aimed at providing advanced marketing training to highly qualified degree holders. It is geared towards developing the research capacities of participant students and is positioned as a breeding programme for doctoral candidates in marketing. The emphasis is research and students spend the entire second year in the programme writing an M. Phil Thesis under supervision. MPhil Marketing students take courses such as Multivariate Data Analysis for Business, Research Design & Qualitative Techniques, Business Information Systems, Advanced Marketing Management, Internet Business and Electronic Marketing, International Marketing and Brand Management.
The admission requirement for the course is a good first degree (at least a Second Class lower) in Marketing from a recognized university. Candidates with a good first degree in Commerce, International Business, Psychology, Sociology and Statistics who demonstrate an eagerness and capacity to cope with the programme may be considered. An entrance examination or interview may be conducted. Admissions are in August each year.
